I love designing homes entryways – always aiming for a bit of the unexpected element. In Michael and his son Jacob’s home I designed their entryway and hallway to include coat racks made from tree wall decals, photo frames that open from the front (makes changing photos oooh so much easier!), cool unique seating (like the one that I am placing a blue pillow on), carpet tiles, and much more. Wait until you see the huge ornate mirror I found for the end of their hallway. Hint, gorgeous! So here are some before and after photos, some decal installation steps (me on ladder!), and more.
The black console table came with 2 trays .. for easy transportation of mail on 1 tray and placement of cute decor on the other.
TREE BRANCH DECAL COAT RACK
My multi-tasting extraordinaire assistant, Emily, helped me number all the branches and tree trunks (thank you again Emily!!!!):
Then I placed them on the wall – 1st with tape to get a placement visual:
Yep, these trees are TALL, reaching to the ceiling! Then we added wrough iron branch hooks for a 3D effect and leaf hooks. Perfect for hangings bags, scarfs, hats, umbrellas. What do you think of them? We considered spray painting them black color, but client loved them just as they were:
In order to fit the ornate mirror frame we had to do a bit of this ….
Yep, a hole in the wall! We (um, not me … but my rock star contractors) shimmed the outlet over just a tad bit to make the HUMONGOUS (and gorgeous) mirror fit. Then repaint, and voila … perfect fit.
