This room is a gorgeous huge transformation – and I am not just saying that bec i designed it (okay, maybe I am, hehe). The room was originally a bedroom with dresser + bed + nightstand + etc, but my client, Shruti, already had a master bedroom and a guest room. What she really needed was a home office, a sophisticated one. Check out Shruti’s current HOME OFFICE with before photos that may have you think that it is not the same room. See (1) the before photo (with bed and all), (2) the furniture placement layout, (3) lots of photos for a visual tour of the room, and (4) the 6 items I suggest you add if you want to create an office in your home.

Wait till you see the blue accent wall that we painted behind the work desk – it is G O R G E O U S and so beautifully serene (we all need a dash of sereneness at work right? Can I get an amen for that!)
The keep list
Just the window shades and the 3 panel wall art!
Relocated items
Shruti’s computer + the gorgeous tea set placed on top of the branch were already in the apartment. Everything else was purchased and added.
We said bye bye to the pre-existing ceiling light fixture and replaced it with a cluster of global sheer beauty, added sheer curtains to the window with a very pretty design, and we hung 5 strands of clear globes for an added touch of beautiful elegance (and for visual balance) . . . .

The white file cabinets. Yep, FILE CABINETS came with boring silver drawer pulls so we replaced it with these blue gems. Aren’t they precious.
6 ITEMS YOU SHOULD ADD TO CREATE YOUR OWN
SOPHISTICATED HOME OFFICE
- add sheer curtains (lets light in, adds soft sophistication)
- add extra seating for guests
- add dimensional art/decor (like the strands of spheres)
- add bulletin board with a fabric design (instead of cork)
- add pops of colors, gently! As in pillows + art vs painting the entire room blue
- add file cabinets that look like console tables
