This room had no color on the walls and the closet didn’t even have clothing rods. We needed to change that STAT, bec Kelly and Rick were expecting their 1st child wooohooo and oooh oh (we had to work fast!)
The design game plan for this nursery included:
- adding accessible overhead storage space (w/doors) to the closet wall (so a little renovation …. opening up wall sections + dust everywhere required) .
- then adding storage bins/cabinets to the awkward empty space to the left if the closet
- designing the inside of the closet
- adding blackout shades that were not boring
- and painting the walls with FUN yet SERENE colors. Possible? you betcha!).

The furniture was purchased by my clients following the color scheme I suggested (they did a GREAT job in keeping with the color scheme).
The window wall was painted a soft green color, and we added blackout shades (a MUST for baby’s good night zzzzzzz)
We used 4 different paint color = blue, orange, green, and white (p.s I loooove when clients trust my vision even if it seems a bit crazy). The color grid panels ON THE CLOSET DOORS was our WOW factor for a
visually unique design and they were created from left over paint. Yep, that’s how my design brain works, always thinking how can I save my clients money while still making the room look beautiful. And I sure hope it inspires you to remember that you don’t have to spent a lot of money to make your room beautiful.
