branch clothing rod

Branch clothing rods, especially in nursery rooms, are beautiful and mega functional because what parent has the time to do through dresser drawers to find an outfit. With a hanging branch you have quick access to current tiny adorable outfits. I suggest placing them above changing tables so you can easily grab a new outfit when you need it.

4 STEPS

  1. find a branch outdoors
  2. cut it to the size you want
  3. sand it down (optional: use polyurethane glaze it to seal it)
  4. hang it up using twine and ceiling eye hooks

Yes, sanding does get a bit messy but it is SO WORTH it especially when you start seeing the beautiful new grain of the wood branch appear.

The more details on the branch the cooler it is … details like knots and extended branch; which you can turn into a valet hook, as I did with this branch. Depending on the size of the ‘hook’ you can use it to place a backpack or an outfit for the next day.

I found this branch the day after a rain storm, which is a perfect time to hunt one down. It was already on the ground so I didn’t have to climb a tree. It was a tad larger than I wanted it to be, I wanted it to fit over a standard size changing table, so I cut it with branch cutting tool.

Tying the wood branch with twine is simple, just wrap wrap wrap and knot several times. Install eye hooks using anchors. Anchors are a must!!! since you will be taking clothes on and off constantly. Here are more photos. Have fun looking for a branch!
