I always function better throughout the day if I can get up earlier than Aidan It’s a nice breather so I can collect my thoughts, plan for the day, and meditate, oh yeah and heavily caffeinate myself! But how on earth does Aidan manage to get up before me lately? His usual wake up time is 6:45am … So, a few days ago I set my alarm (which he cannot hear) for 6am, he woke up at 6:05am. Hmm, it was just a coincidence! Right???? I am super stealth (not that I try to be, I just don’t have energy to make noise). So, the next day I set my alarm to 530am. Enough time to grab my coffee, right? Nope! He woke up at 5:35pm. Hmm now, that’s strange. Then the day after that I automatically woke up at 4:30am with no alarm, no hardwood floor creaking, no lights on; I reluctantly peeled myself out of the bed, headed over to the kitchen to brush my teeth with coffee, and as I raise my coffee cup to my lips with a sigh of victory I take a peek at the baby monitor and …. WT#%@ .. he’s up! How is that possible!?? Oh, and did I mention that when Aidan takes a nap, T-Rex (our toddler cat) who has been sleeping all morning all of a sudden starts meowing (meow translation = my turn).
